Today, we’re embarking on a 3 episode series talking about a subject a lot of people don’t like to talk about: death. It’s sad, it can be scary and physically painful, and it’s permanent, but it’s important for Christians to have a biblical perspective on death. In part 1, we’re going to look at what the Bible says about death, what we should believe about death, and how to biblically navigate some issues surrounding death that the Bible doesn’t talk about.

Thank you, bless you and Walk Worthy!
Michelle,
Your thoughts on cremation were especially helpful to me. Thanks for allowing us guys to eavesdrop on your page. I pray for your ministry, daily. Also, I’ve been praying for you folks in the path of this hurricane.
To God’s glory,
Randy
Thanks so much for listening and for your prayers, Randy!
I’m having a very difficult time that Christians can accept cremation in spite of its historic and recorded pagan roots. In doing so, isn’t that rejecting the Bible’s warnings? Israel did not do well or right in God’s eyes when they absorbed practices of the pagan nations around them (over and over!) What has changed that Christians should now participate in today’s pagan practices?
Hi Deb- Did you get a chance to listen carefully to the episode? We answered this objection. Israel did not participate in pagan cremation practices. Cremation, as it is carried out in Western societies (like the United States) today, is not a pagan practice. If you live in a country where cremation is the typical practice of a pagan religion in your culture, we would recommend Christians in your area not be cremated. If it would violate your conscience to be cremated, we would recommend you not sin against your conscience and choose burial instead. But this is an issue of Christian liberty. You may not bind your brothers’ and sisters’ consciences to your own. We discussed all of this in the episode.
