Talk Back: Jennie Allen & Gather25

Today we’re going to “talk back” to an online event called Gather25, created by IF:Gathering’s own Jennie Allen. Why? To warn you about it so you can warn your church and your loved ones away from it, because it’s coming up very quickly: February 28 – March 1. It’s an event you’ll definitely want to miss.

Wonderful podcast – very helpful and timely! This week I found out that a local church (which some of my friends attend) will be hosting a Gather25 viewing party, so I’m very grateful that I can send them this information before the event! Praying that this church will cancel the event and avoid the false teachers. God Bless you both!

Thank you for your kind words, Caroline. We’re so glad it was helpful, and I’ve taken a moment to pray that the church you mentioned will take heed and cancel the event.

I received this week an email from Jesus Project Film about this event, and I got skeptical about the event because of the people displayed on the email. I am glad that you ladies mentioned them in this episode. I didn’t pay attention that JPF is managed by Cru. So many false teachers getting endorsed in “Christian” events. Speaking of false teachers, what do you ladies think about Logos App? I used to read the Bible online and search for historical facts, but this month on their newsletters they mentioned books by Priscilla Shirer. I am not sure if I will continue using their app and website. Got really disappointed.
    God bless you, ladies.

Hi Vanessa- I don’t use it, but I’ve heard there are a lot of books by false teachers in the library section of the app. If you’d like to try a different app, I’ve suggested some here. There’s also the tried and true option of using a hard copy Bible. The MacArthur Study Bible is very good, as is the ESV Study Bible. And if you like historical facts, you can’t beat the Archaeology Study Bible. I love mine. :0)

Hello Michelle and Amy. Just yesterday, I found your podcast while searching for truth about the Biblical role of women in the church.

I have listened to 3 of your podcasts now and am grateful for your Biblical discernment. Finally… I have found other women who truly understand and discern Scripture in the Bible as it should be taught! I believe the Word is the final authority and that we need to test everything with it.

I thought I was being old school and the only woman left who thought this way. You are refreshing to my ears and heart.

I look forward to listening to more of your podcasts.
