Hello, I usually love the biblical wisdom in your podcasts but this one left me frustrated.
You gave excellent information regarding discernment before answering a question, and Abigails situation. However, I was left with the sense that you gave wives instruction to determine whether her husband is leading biblically. Is she now his judge as to whether she is in agreement with his biblical leadership? She can now teach her husband what she will honor and/or submit to based on her interpretation of his biblical leadership.
This podcast spent too much time teaching wives how their husbands should be leading rather than teaching wives the beauty of submission (bc her hope is in God).
Hi DD- Thanks for your comment. If a woman’s husband orders her to murder someone, should she submit to him and do it? If you say no, because that’s a sin, you’re doing the same thing you’re reproving us for doing. You’ve made a determination that the husband is not leading biblically and she should not submit to him. She is now judging whether or not she is in agreement with his leadership. She can now teach her husband what she will honor and/or submit to based on her interpretation of his biblical leadership. The only difference is that the instruction to murder someone is a more obvious sin than the demand that she wear a red dress every day.
