It is a big difference when the “elders” of the church wanted a new pastor and his wife voted in when they knew their background. Going to the pastor (and his wife was present) with my findings on what teachings they were bringing in starting with the Bible studies by Bill Johnson et al (that everyone did not participate in so did not know), did not give me any answers because that was their belief. They also believe women can pastor men because the Bible only mentions the Corinthian church and not all. They definitely did not handle God’s word correctly.
It sounds like, at that point, it was probably time to find a new church. Are you in a good, solid church now, Karen? If not (or if anyone reading this comment needs some help finding a good church), check out our “Is this church for you?” episode, especially the “Searching for a new church?” link in the show notes.
