Do biblical churches exist? How do we avoid churches that are incorporating unbiblical teaching into their services and programs? The good news is that you can find a doctrinally sound church, if you are willing to do some investigating. Amy and Michelle discuss what that looks like, and questions you’ll want to ask.

Hi Ladies
Really enjoying the podcasts!
Hope I’m not speaking out of turn, me being a bloke n’all! But I apply the Ray Comfort acid test to a Pastor of a church I am thinking of attending. After all, he will be the one with spiritual oversight over me.
The acid test is this: I have a knife in my chest and I have 3 minutes to live. How do I get to heaven?
The Pastor must articulate the Gospel properly, that is; I am sinful and have broken all God’s commandments and deserve hell. But Christ paid the price for me and I must repent and place my faith in Him.
This should be a walk in the park for a Pastor. But if his answer is squishy or unbiblical then I know to steer clear of him – after sharing the true Gospel, that is (I am an evangelist after all!)
That’s a super question to ask a potential pastor, Craig! Thanks so much for sharing!
Don’t worry if there are books on a pastor’s shelf that you find heretical. Just ask him why they are there and what he agrees/disagrees about them. Though I have some books on my shelves about evolution, it is simply so that I can be informed on what they think and why. I sometimes read books based upon bad theology in order to understand the false teachings and be able to help people that love these books/authors.
I LOVE this episode! Great questions to ask when visiting a church. We can’t find a good church anywhere now that COVID has destroyed the ministry of the Church, but we are still looking and praying. None of the resources on your links had any good suggestions within 100 miles of us.
